This years Solstice Celebrations at Stonehenge were well attended and good natured, marred only by The Heretics and their total inability to organise the smooth flow of traffic. I left Salisbury on the first bus, availing myself of the public transport as EH (The Heretics) recommended in all their advance publicity. Salisbury Reds, the local bus company put on eight buses to shuttle people from Salisbury to Solstice,
It was likened to a Sci-Fi movie with buses driving off into a 'Black hole' as eight left at twenty minute intervals and none returned. The reason for this was all eight were spaced at regular interval and stuck in the same queue of stop start traffic. The first not arriving, as I can testify, until long after the sunset ceremony had passed and barely in time to make it down to the Stones by 10.05 pm.
During the cause of the celebrations a Police sergeant sought me out and made it quite clear to me where he laid the blame, explaining that he had observes five lanes of incoming traffic serviced by only one attendant provided by EH taking parking charges from each vehicle before allowing entry.
Since the introduction of the (Pay to Pray Policy) Parking charges I have left my Iron Steed at home and availed myself of Public transport, although as was pointed out to me by EH, I could always have free parking as a steward, but it is a matter of principle and I can not accept free parking unless all are given the same treatment, and would rather give monies over to the bus company than the Heretic who make enough monies from tourists the rest of the year without making money out of our right to attend Solstice and Equinox.
Since Solstice, and after loosing a publisher over my right to pick and choose when and where I Protest and about what I have been busy on the computer (now so short of memory it's time for an upgrade) Designing, re-designing, formatting and re-formatting files, manuscript and cover and after much ado and many attempts I have finally got a new revised edition 2023 of The Trials of Arthur back in print.
There are still a few teething problems, and it may or may not have a contents page, but all the text is present and the new cover's looking good enough to Judge, although we are told not to. Either way. It's a work in progress, keeping me busy and giving me ideas and confidence to, who knows? Maybe The Latter-day Book of Arthurian Bards will be next to go Back in Print. Anyway check it out on Amaon, there's a Kindle version available too.
Blessings from The Front
