A Write Royal Rant
November 2022
The time betwixt and between Samhain and the Winter Solstice 'tis always the darkest, and oft' times the least busy period of our year, a time for curling up and keeping warm,
Last month was no exception, but on a media front I did manage to make it into the Telegraph, with a photo of me up in Uxbridge on the proposed route of HS2, leading a group of protestors to 'Bless' the Water.
Well as the saying goes, you can lead a Horse to Water.... Trying to teach them the Druids vow was, well judge for yourself,

The only other meeting of note was The EH Round Table , it had been agreed to meet shortly after the Autumn Equinox to de-brief, but the Heretics (English Heritage, to those not familiar with my terminology) once again promised one thing and delivered another, leaving it 'till late November before calling a meeting.
We were informed that the 'Droves' By-ways Open to All Traffic within the World Heritage site of Stonehenge would be closed over the Winter Solstice and that the Pilgrims attending would be required to park in EH's Car park.
I made 'our' feelings known about any possible road closures in the World Heritage site of Stonehenge over the upcoming Solstice period and how it most certainly was disproportionate to the Pagan and Druid community, who come to worship at such times. This closure is a hindrance to the exercising of our Article 9,10,11, and 14 rights Human Rights Act UK and European Law and Treaty obligations (as stands at this moment in time- not withstanding any future planned legislation by this current government).
Still, the Authorities insisted it was for Safety reasons, and had nothing to do with an artificial cap on numbers and a monopoly on parking within the WHS for the Heretics, as I claimed.
I did however get the Authorities present, Police and Heretics, ( Wiltshire Council who grant the closures and are continuing to refuse to attend), to agree to study an alternative plan for traffic movement including keeping the 'Droves' open for parking to be prepared and presented by Myself and the representative of the Pagan Federation who kindly offered to help in good time to be considered for next year.
Aside from that, the meeting was pretty uneventful, that is until I stormed out at the end. Two separate representatives of Druid Orders, trying to further their case for 'Private Access'. Which as I pointed out is NOT what the RT (of which I am a co-founder) was set up to discuss. It being a forum that meets with the Authorities only four times a year to discuss matters solely relating to the seasonal Celebration at which All are welcome. And that's why any 'Side deals' should be referred to EH on their own time and not ours
