A new year and a new challenge: Last year went out with coverage on and in, the National and even International news (Yes, I was reportedly seen in the German media) and TV over our support for the 'Stonehenge tunnel' High Court challenge; and the Ceremonies at Solstice for those lucky enough to attend and make it through the Traffic chaos caused by the Authorities steadfast refusal to listen to common sense and keep the droves open.
Well, this year is an election year, as most of you know it could be called as early as 2nd May, to coincide with the local elections here in the UK. At present I am working on the election leaflet Black and white Double sided Tri-folded print and awaiting a price for printing locally.
I already have a design for flyers and a number have already been printed off, thanks to Theo our Amsterdam Grove leader. I also await the number of domestic dwellings in the constituency, and how to prepare for the 'Free' mail shot. Actually, it's only the delivery that is free, I still have to pay to have them printed. I now await a response from both Council and Post office respectfully on numbers etc.
As well as leaflets and flyers, we will launch a new studio version of 'King Arthur's coming' by Steve Andrews, with a short voice over by myself, which I shall record in Cardiff later this month. You can forget “Things can only get better', used by Blair, but you will be hard pressed to forget King Arthur's coming.
There should be 'Badges' available likened to the JFK pins, and alike, saying vote King Arthur, in order to raise funds in the Pagan community and here in Salisbury.
Any help anyone can be with the fundraising will be greatly appreciated.
Why should we go to all this trouble for a General election ?
Well let's see, as the MP for Salisbury my opinion on keeping the droves open at Solstice and Equinox would carry far more weight, as it will if I come higher up the food chain than in last place after all the 'also rans', and however many votes I receive here in the Constituency can and will be viewed at Stonehenge as a mandate from the local people who agree with my call for changes.
I am doing all I can, I'll raise the deposit, but now I need your help to raise the rest of the funds needed to mount this campaign. Many thanks to all who have helped in the past and a happy new year to all.
Let's get and keep this show on the Road.
