I hope you had a great Walpurgis night/Betaine and are enjoying May-day, as we usher in the new season and ready ourselves here at Stonehenge for the Summer Solstice when it's all change again.
Politically here in Salisbury I am still up against the Bias in the Press which continue to give the other 'Party' Parliamentary candidates space to deliver their views on all manner of topics, while ignoring mine. But many people keep stopping me in the street as I carry on about town and claim to support my standing and express their intention to vote for me.
We will of course see, when the election is finally called and the proof as they say.....
One think's for sure I wont be able to throw as much money at it for leaflets and alike, as the other candidates but as the current MP said, when first we met after he was ekected,
“If the Hustings were anything to go by, you would be sat here and I'd be stood there,”
So; I'll give it my best shot, and raise as much awareness as I can.
Talking of Press, I was contacted recently by a local Journalist asking about my encounter and knowledge of The Labour Leader Sir Kier Starmer.
Apparently I am mentioned in his recent biography by Tom Baldwin, (not that I have actually seen it) with regards to being the first arrest under the then new Criminal Justice Act for Trespassory Assembly,
Also. In fact, the first Not Guilty, the alleged offence taking place at Stonehenge with the assistance of the then young Barrister Kier Starmer. Who was in fact 'on loan' to me from Liberty, formally known as The Campaign for Civil Liberties, we won that one.
later (November '98) with Keir's assistance I went on to challenge H.M. Government in Strasburg over the implementation of the so called 'exclusion zone' in and around Stonehenge over the Summer Solstice period.
How much of this is or isn't mentioned in Kiers Biography I don't know but it's amusing to think that it's his biographer and by extension him, that's name-dropping me.
Until then next time
Blessings from The Front
